Chaque chanson de l'album Hopes and Fears témoigne de la volonté de sincérité de Keane. Le chant riche de Tom Chaplin vibre comme celui d'un chœur, et des titres tels que "This Is the Last Time", "Bend and Break" et "Can't Stop Now" font partie des grands moments de Keane, savoureux, dramatiques. Tout l'album est confiant, et pour un groupe qui est en place depuis sept ans sans avoir jamais sorti d'album studio, approcher le statut d'album quasiment épique relève de la prouesse.
