Derrière cet étrange sobriquet de Neon Indian se cache en fait Alan Palomo, jeune Mexicain, Texan d’adoption, fanatique de synthés vintage bizarroïdes et de guitares cheap qu’il utilise pour concocter des pop songs new wave et funky à la fois comme ce second album enregistré en Finlande en regorge. On pensera notamment à Prince pour la face groovy, aux combos phares de la pop new wave des 80’s comme Orchestral Manœuvre In The Dark ou bien encore aux maîtres du shoegaz comme Jesus & Mary Chain et My Bloody Valentine. Un fourre-tout miraculeux aux mélodies contagieuses.
