En 1992, le chanteur américain Lionel Richie avait clairement suffisamment de tubes à son actif pour pouvoir sortir un Greatest Hits. Back to Front constitue l’ambitieux projet de rassembler les meilleurs titres de cet immense artiste de soul. L’album retrace toute la carrière de Richie, allant de son passage au sein des Commodores à ses créations en solo qui lui ont valu une reconnaissance internationale. Certains regretteront peut être que certaines chansons emblématiques soient absentes ici (Oh No, Ballerine Girl, My Love…) mais le catalogue du compositeur est si riche qu’il a dû falloir faire quelques sacrifices. Les essentiels Say You, Say Me, Running With The Night, Still ou encore Truly sont bien sûr présents et le disque reste un outil idéal pour redécouvrir ou se familiariser avec l’univers soul et langoureux de Lionel Richie. © LG/Qobuz
