Guillaume Perret
Tenor saxophonist Guillaume Perret (born Annecy, France, June 21, 1980) has spent a decade in the shadows, honing his jazz with funk and effects of all kinds. Noticed by avant-garde musician John Zorn, who signed him to his Tzadik Records label, the Savoyard recorded a critically acclaimed debut album with his band The Electric Epic in 2012. Two years later, the group comprising Guillaume Perret (saxophone, sound effects), Jim Grandcamp (guitar), Philippe Bussonnet (bass) and Yoann Serra (drums) returned to the fray with the album Open Me. Then, solo, with the help of programmed machines, the saxophonist records the manifesto Free, published in 2016.
