Little Hurricane

A gritty 21st century husband-and-wife blues-rock duo out of San Diego, California, little hurricane emerged in 2011 with Homewrecker, a fiery debut that yielded a handful of heavily licensed tracks that helped the band earn widespread exposure. They built on their foundation with subsequent albums like Gold Fever (2014) and Same Sun Same Moon (2017) along with a heavy touring schedule on both sides of the Atlantic. By 2019, the duo had wed and added a baby boy to their family, a theme reflected in their 2019 release Love Luck. little hurricane formed in 2010 when Anthony "Tone" Catalano (vocals/guitar) answered a musician's call from Celeste "CC" Spina (drums/vocals) on Craigslist. Catalano, originally from Santa Cruz, and Spina, originally from Chicago, shared a common interest in both the blues and vintage musical equipment, and their ragged, passionate sound evolved almost instantly. Their debut album, Homewrecker, arrived on the Unknown Breakthrough label in 2011. A number of the album's songs were licensed to television shows like Gossip Girl, Revenge, and Mistresses as well as a Taco Bell campaign. A diverse set of choice cover versions, Stay Classy, followed in 2013 on Death Valley Records. Also on Death Valley, Gold Fever was released in 2014 and landed on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. After extensive touring in the U.S., Canada, and Europe, they went to work on their fourth studio LP. Released in the spring of 2017, Same Sun Same Moon marked their debut with Mascot Music as well as their first as a married couple. Another life change, this time the birth of their son, informed 2019's Love Luck, which also reflects on the sudden death of Spina's brother.
