This is perhaps the moment Lil Yachty was least expected to bounce back. With Lil Boat 3, his fourth official album, he proves that he shouldn't be forgotten and that he’s more than just a troublemaker. Although his critics won't get a taste of his repetitive vocal outbursts, it's the production that makes this new project interesting. At the controls, we find Kansas producer Pi'erre Bourne (Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert) as usual focused on futuristic synthesizer sounds (Range Rover Sports Truck), an omnipresent and always inventive Earl On The Beat (Top Down, Split/Whole Time...), an ultra-melodious 30 Roc (Concrete Boys)... Despite strong moments such as T.D, a kind of minimalist summit meeting between A$AP Rocky, Tyler, The Creator and Tierra Whack, Lil Boat 3 is much more exciting for the sound atmosphere developed than by the work of its protagonist. This is perhaps the moment Lil Yachty was least expected to bounce back.
