Haval

Born in the hustle of Husby, northern Stockholm, on May 16, 1995, Haval Khalil, better known by his stage name Haval, is a distinct voice in the Swedish rap scene. The streets of Skarpnäck, within Stockholm's municipality, became both his sanctuary and his muse. Bursting onto the scene with his debut album Inloggad in 2020, Haval garnered significant attention. Produced by Manny Flaco, this collaborative duo went on to release several singles under the banner Haval & Manny Flaco. Their tracks, renowned for portraying the gritty realities of street life, amassed significant plays across streaming platforms. Haval's artistry was undeniable, earning him a Newcomer of the Year nomination at the Swedish Grammy Awards in April 2021. However, his acclaim was not without controversy. This very nomination became a hotbed of debate due to Haval's rumored affiliations with gangs and pending criminal charges against him. The tides turned dramatically in July 2021, when Haval found himself convicted and sentenced to two and a half years in prison for his involvement in the kidnapping and robbery of fellow rapper Einár. Despite the turbulence, he returned in 2022 with his sophomore effort Inloggad 2, rising to the top of the Sverigetopplistan and peaking at Number 6 in Norway. He continued his winning streak in 2023 with the non-album singles "Sicarios," "Southside," or "Paris," which entered the Swedish Top 100 at Number 33.
