Dan Bodan
Low-key electro-pop balladeer Dan Bodan came up in the underground music scene of his native Montreal, Quebec but moved to Berlin, Germany during the mid-2000s. He debuted in 2011 with Nudity & Atrocity, a self-produced, vinyl-only release that was pressed in a limited edition of 250. The next year, he released a pair of singles, including "Under a Cancer Sky," which was covered by Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip. Bodan settled in with the DFA label for a couple additional singles and an album, Soft. Released in 2014, the intimate, mostly subdued set -- somewhere in the realm of the slower material in the deepest parts of Junior Boys' discography -- involved contributions from several producers, including Great Skin, Physical Therapy, Ville Haimala, and Stadium (the last of whom DFA referred to as "an amazing producer/remixer we are not allowed to mention for some reason").
