Sai Vignesh

Born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, Sai Vignesh is a Carnatic musician and playback singer who works primarily in Tamil cinema (aka Kollywood). While he primarily sings in the Tamil language, he has also recorded vocals in other languages including Telugu and Kannada. Before becoming a playback singer, he began classical training at a young age. Originally studying under Smt. Lakshmi Ananthakrishnan, he then followed the teachings of Cuddalore Shri. T.R. Vasudevan. Sai Vignesh made his playback debut in 2018 with the song “Oora Nenjila,” which was taken from the film Eghaantham. That same year, he performed “Kaalai Theme” for the film Kadai Kutty Singam. The success of those two songs brought more playback projects and he has recorded over 300 songs for popular Indian music directors and composers including Maestro Ilayaraja, Yuvan Shankar Raja, A.R. Rahman, Harris Jayaraj, and many others. Alongside his playback career, he has also recorded devotional and classical music. A popular live artist, he has performed over 1,000 shows around the world and has shared the stage with artists such as SPB, Shankar Mahadevan, Chitra, and D. Imman. Sai Vignesh has been earned many honors during his career including the Best Vocalist award from The Music Academy (2018), the Best Concert award from HCL Concert Series (2019), and the Excellence Award for the from Sri Sathya Sai Organizations (2021). In 2022, Sai Vignesh scored a viral hit on social media with the song “Kuramugil,” a collaboration with Vishal Chandrashekhar, taken from the Tamil film Sita Ramam.
