Kerrier District
In late January 2004, Luke Vibert released a triple-vinyl pack on Rephlex under his Kerrier District alias. The whimsical producer took cues from Italo disco producers of the early '80s -- as well as left-field house vets Metro Area, who certainly inspired Vibert's own pseudonym -- to come up with his own sample-heavy take on the sound. Black Devil's Disco Club, a French disco-era relic reissued by Rephlex around the same time as Kerrier District, also played a significant role in the sound of these tracks. The self-titled set was released on compact disc a couple months later. Vibert eventually remixed one of the Black Devil tracks as part of another Rephlex release. During the next several years, Vibert released only a couple additional KD EPs, though a second album finally materialized on Hypercolour in 2015.
