EMELINE
Emeline Easton, who operates under the stylized mononym EMELINE, is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and musician with a stylish aesthetic, blunt and biting lyrics, and a seductive dark-pop sound. A native of Providence, Rhode Island, she released a string of singles as Emeline Easton before adopting the EMELINE moniker upon moving to Los Angeles in 2017. Debuting in 2020 with the punchy "6 Foot Deep," which detailed her experiences with misogyny while coming up in the music business, EMELINE quickly became a social media pop sensation, eliciting millions of streams for the track and its accompanying video. Later that year, she teamed up with Thievery Corporation's Rob Garza on the EP Where the Moon Hides, and in 2021 she issued a string of vibrant singles including the streaming hits "What It Means to Be a Girl," "This Is How I Learn to Say No," and "Flowers & Sex," the latter of which featured Grammy-nominated electronic duo SMLE. The following year saw EMELINE release the cathartic, R&B-tinged single "Cinderella's Dead."
