Andreas Kümmert, Gewinner der dritten Staffel des Castingformats The Voice of Germany, brachte im Frühling 2014 sein erstes Major-Label-Album Here I Am. Nach dem Ende der Fernsehsendung ging Kümmert mit Show-Mentor und Musiker Max Herre sowie mit Produzent Justin Stanley ins Studio. Letzterer zeigte sich unter anderem schon für Jamie Lidell und Eric Clapton verantwortlich. In der intensiveren Aufnahmezeit sind 12 Songs entstanden, bei denen die außergewöhnliche Stimme des Sängers immer im Mittelpunkt steht ("Just Like You", "Solid Gold"). Begleitet sind sie meist minimalistisch von Klavier, Gitarre und Schlagzeug ("Open Eyes", "Jordan"). Enthalten ist auch eine Coverversion des Bee Gee Klassikers "To Love Somebody", das gemeinsam mit Soul-Sängerin Joy Denalane aufgenommen wurde.
