Simon and Garfunkel - "The Boxer" Although we were known for making one of the first rock records actually recorded in stereo (everything else was made in mono and remixed reluctantly in stereo later) I couldn’t afford a stereo unit at home until mid 1969. This was the first record I played when I finally got a stereo deck.
Nina Simone - "Lilac Wine" Fell in love to it.
Elizabeth Schwarzkopf, George Szell, Radio Symphonie-Orchester Berlin - "R. Strauss: Four Last Songs, AV 150.IV At Gloaming" A rare masterpiece.
Michael Davis, Charles Gerhardt, Philharmonic Symphony of London - "J Massenet: Méditation from Thaïs"
The Piano Guys - "The Cello Song" Check out the video.
Kacey Musgraves - "Dime Store Cowgirl" Makes me happy every time.
Boz Scaggs - "Lowdown" The gold standard for recording in the 1970’s. We all referenced this record.
Alison Krauss - "I Don’t Believe You’ve Met My Baby" Pure perfection in Bluegrass.
Donald Fagen - "I.G.Y." The gold standard for recording in the 1980s.
Bonnie Raitt - "I can’t Make You Love Me" What a song, what a song!
Barbra Streisand - "Guilty" A guilty pleasure.
Christopher Cross - "Sailing" Such a beautiful recording - it never fails to draw you in.
Don Henley - "Taking You Home" It’s Don Henley; every song is a winner
Bon Ivor - "Holocene" I met another Justin on tour last year—here he is!
Joni Mitchell - "Refuge of the Roads" I love everything Joni has done, but this song resonates with all of us who love "the road" and we miss it so much just now.
Nat King Cole - "When I Fall In Love" When I was young I played it every single day, over and over.
The Left - "Cellophane" A gem from these Canadian musicians.
Vanessa Carlton - "A Thousand Miles" The drum track on this record is the envy of all recording artists.
Thin Lizzy - "Whiskey In The Jar" They were at Decca with us. A confident group with perfect rock guitar playing. Phil left this world much too young.
Daft Punk - "Digital Love" I never get tired of it.
Earth, Wind & Fire - "September" You have to get up.
Human League - "Together In Electric Dreams" Turned me on and Giorgio Moroder paid me the compliment of recording one of my songs. Thank you Giorgio.
The Beatles - "Bulldog" Tense, confident and mischievous from the greatest group ever, who were getting near the end.
Buffalo Springfield - "Broken Arrow" In London in the mid 1960s we would spend our time visiting friends' apartments and playing our records. This was in everyone's collection.
