With this second album on NoMadMusic, the Ellipsos Quartet pays homage to the composer Fernande Decruck, curiously unknown in France, but renowned in the United States. Fernande Decruck wrote many pieces for saxophone and notably for quartet. Her music, very refined and tinged with rhythmic and harmonic audacity, is at the crossroads of the worlds of Ravel, Stravinsky, Gershwin and Debussy. A world of sound to be discovered, thanks to these unpublished pieces, most of which were published for the first time this year by Billaudot. © NoMadMusic

After the critical success of her last two solo albums, Célimène Daudet comes back with her most personal project. "Haïti my love" is a passionate declaration to her Caribbean origins through the prism of her music and her little-known classical composers. Lamothe, Elie and Saintonge will know how to surprise you and take you on a musical journey that tells the rhythms, landscapes and colours of the country. Fascinated by Chopin, who influenced him a lot, Ludovic Lamothe was even nicknamed "the Chopin Noir" because of his dreamlike, deeply sensitive and lyrical music. So many unpublished gems just waiting to be shared and known! © nomadmusic

Emmanuel Ceysson and Frédéric Chatoux have worked alongside the pit of the Paris Opera for ten years, thus they have created a magnificent musical bond. "After a dream" is their first duo project, bringing together a selection of original pieces and transcriptions, with French music and its dreamlike tones as a common thread. Alongside Fauré, Cras, Ibert and Saint-Saëns, Bach, Rossini and Gluck, the two musicians colored this program in the form of sweet reverie. © nomadmusic

As soon as they met at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris, Stéphanie-Marie Degand and Violaine Cochard developed a musical complicity: J.S. Bach's Six Sonatas for Obbligato Harpsichord and Violin quickly became their preferred repertoire. These works (with the exception of the 6th) are of Corellian inspiration - on the model of the "sonata da chiesa": alternation of four movements slow-fast-slow-fast. Bach mixes the rigour of North German counterpoint with Italian cantabile alternating with fast movements, almost all of which are fugal. A recording that celebrates thirty years of friendship and shared passion for music. © Nomadmusic

“Jardin féérique”, the Métaboles’ second album with NoMadMusic, is a true ode to nature. Infinite source of inspiration, it becomes an enchanted forest with Ravel, is the symbolical reflection of the soul’s tremors with Saint-Saëns, while Britten, in his Hymn to Saint Cecilia – patron of musicians – pays homage to the muse walking through a shady garden. Britten’s Flower Songs create a unique cycle like a musical herbarium… The figurative music of Murray Schafer (Miniwanka) – engaged composer and ecology-lover – develops the concept of a musical landscape: a fascinating conjunction of vocal gestures, percussion, onomatopeia, evocation of rituals which reveal the metaphysical dimension of the link between Nature and Mankind. © Nomadmusic

After the success of her last album, dedicated to Messiaen and Debussy, Célimène Daudet returns to recording with another pairing, this time playing the last works of Scriabin and Liszt. In it, she invites us into an intriguing, enigmatic and almost mystical universe, a sort of final pilgrimage to the limits of piano’s sound possibilities. Built around the themes of night, death and mystery, this recital joins emblematic works such as Scriabin’s "Black Mass" Sonata (No. 9) and Vers la flamme to Liszt’s Lugubre gondola No. 2 and La Notte. © Nomadmusic

Composer-in-residence at the Orchestre de Picardie and , Camille Pepin presents a recording of The Sound of Trees, her double concerto for clarinet and cello, for which she was awarded "Best Composer" at the 2020 Victoires de la musique. To fill out this programme, the Orchestre has entrusted her with the orchestration of works by Lili Boulanger and Claude Debussy, from whom there is no repertoire for chamber orchestra. This album presents a century of the "French Touch" conducted by Arie van Beek - listen without restraint! © nomadmusic

In "Post-scriptum", Marina Chiche and Aurélien Pontier pay homage to the golden age in which violinists arranged, transcribed and made pastiches of short pieces to fill out the ends of their recitals. This album evokes a lost time through the rediscovery of these miniature gems of which Heifetz and Kreisler were once the most admirable ambassadors. © nomadmusic
