Yazin Nizar

Born February 9, 1990, in Kollam, Kerala, India, Yazin Nizar – who is sometimes credited as Yasin – is an in-demand playback singer. He has performed over 500 songs in several different languages including Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Kannada. He became interested in music when he was young and, while at school, began studying Carnatic and Hindustani music. After winning several awards in regional youth festivals, he began performing on televised talent competitions in his teens, winning several of them including Apple Megastars and Gandharva Sangeetham. He eventually pursued a career in playback singing, working with many of the industry’s biggest composers including AR Rahman, Devi Sri Prasad, G. V. Prakash Kumar, and many others. Yazin Nizar’s earliest recordings were recorded in the Malayalam language when he was in his teens. His biggest hits include "Kolussu Thenni" (from 2014’s Cousins), "Charusheela" (from 2015’s Sreemanthudu), and "Yavvana" (from 2017’s Satya). He scored a massive hit in 2017 with “Neeye, Neeve, and Neene”, a multi-language song sung in Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil. Nearly two decades into his career, he remained as popular as ever, releasing well-received tracks such as “Sakiye” (from 2021’s Oh Manapenne) and “Chaka Chak” (from the 2021 film Atrangi Re). Over the course of his career, Yazin Nizar has been nominated for many awards, winning several including 2016’s Best Playback Singer of the Year from the Mirchi Music Awards for his performance of “Meghalu” (from Kumari 21F).
