Trio Chemirani

Trio Chemirani is a family story revolving around the zarb, a traditional Iranian drum. Both father and master, Djamchid Chemirani introduced his two sons Keyvan Chemirani and Bijan Chemirani to this ancient and subtle art. Whether individually or collectively, the members of Trio Chemirani offer infinite rhythmic possibilities with their instruments. Trio Chemirani made its debut in 1998 with Trio de Zarb, followed by Qualam Kar in 2002 and Tchechmeh in 2004. Open to other cultures, Trio Chemirani regularly collaborates with jazz and African musicians. Trio Chemirani Invite... in 2011 featured encounters with Omar Sosa, Titi Robin, Renaud Garcia-Fons, Ross Daly, Ballaké Sissoko, and Sylvain Luc.
