Tommee Profitt

Producer and composer Tommee Profitt excels at rousing, symphonic, synth-based music created with screen placements in mind. Beginning with 2017's Vol. 1, he has released a series of collections under the Cinematic Songs banner, garnering tens of millions of streams for tracks including "Only One King" and his 2018 version of Linkin Park's "In the End." His 2020 album The Birth of a King featured covers of 17 Christmas classics, and his take on "O Holy Night" featuring Tauren Wells and SVRCINA landed in the Top 40 of Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart. Profitt rejoined SVRCINA for the 2021 single "There for You" and frequent partner Fleurie for a well-received 2022 version of Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars." By the arrival of the star-studded, orchestra- and choir-accompanied The Birth of a King: Live in Concert in 2023, his "In the End" had topped 20 billion plays across platforms worldwide. In addition to film and television placements, his music has appeared in video games, live sports broadcasts, film trailers, and much more. A self-taught piano player who began producing his own music at the age of 12, Grand Rapids, Michigan native Thomas James Profitt worked briefly as a contemporary Christian artist before emerging with cinematic versions of "Carol of the Bells" and a movement of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata in the mid-2010s. His song "Hurts Like Hell" featuring vocalist/songwriter Fleurie appeared on a 2015 episode of Scream: The TV Series. Soon, his recordings were heard on shows such as Bones (Fox) and Reign (CW). In January 2017, Profitt released the collection Cinematic Songs, Vol. 1. Fleurie was among several other singers to appear on the album, which also included a handful of instrumental tracks. She turned up again on Vol. 2, issued just three months later, and went on to become a frequent collaborator of Profitt's. That year, Profitt also produced Christian rapper NF's Top 20 single "Let You Down." Working from his studio in Franklin, Tennessee, outside of Nashville, the year 2018 brought three more editions of Profitt's Cinematic Songs series, with Vol. 3 arriving in February. That March, he released a cover of Linkin Park’s "In the End" featuring Fleurie and rapper Jung Youth. Issued in July 2018, Cinematic Songs, Vol. 4's guests included artists like Colton Dixon, Sarah Reeves, and Whissell as well as Fleurie. Vol. 5 followed that November. Boosted by an inclusion on the CW series Legacies at the end of the year, a popular remix by Mellen Gi in early 2019, and viral status on social media, "In the End" soon crossed the hundred-million-stream threshold. Featuring Fleurie on over half the tracks, Profitt's album Gloria Regali saw release in April 2019, with Cinematic Songs, Vol. 6 following in August. The collection Covers, Vol. 1 appeared the next May, and in October 2020, he released the Christmas album The Birth of a King. It reached the Top 30 of Billboard's Top Holiday Albums and Top Christian Albums charts. That year, Profitt's songs also appeared in the films The Binge (Hulu) and Secret Society of Second-Born Royals (Disney+). Another collaboration with SVRCINA, "There for You," was included on her 2020 album Elysian Fields and released as a single in September 2021. In the meantime, Profitt delivered Cinematic Songs, Vol. 7, and in November, he issued "Noel (He Is Born)," a seasonal collaboration with Stanaj. Profitt kicked off 2022 with the January release of The Remixes, Vol. 1, the first in a series of remix EPs; Vol. 5 arrived before a month had passed. The four-song The Creed Collection with Nicole Serrano appeared in April, with Wedding Songs, a collection of covers featuring Fleurie, following in July. He garnered tens of millions of streams for the 2023 single release of "Enemy" with Beacon Light and Sam Tinnesz (from Cinematic Songs, Vol. 6) by the time the eighth entry in the Cinematic Songs series saw release in September of that year. By then, his version of "In the End" had been viewed or streamed 20 billion times across platforms, prompting a five-year-anniversary remix EP. In November 2023, Profitt offered up the 75-minute The Birth of a King: Live in Concert, which captured a star-studded Christmas concert in Nashville featuring a 60-piece orchestra and the 100-person Choir Room. Among the roster of guest vocalists were Tauren Wells, Crowder, Danny Gokey, and Fleurie.
