Svrcina

Singer/songwriter SVRCINA mixes earnest balladry and adventurous electro-pop in the spirit of Sia and Ellie Goulding. Following her initial EPs, she garnered wider attention with her 2020 full-length, Elysian Fields. Born Molly Svrcina in 1996 in Detroit, Michigan, SVRCINA ("sur-cee-nah") sang in church growing up, and became passionate about music around the age of eight. Starting her career as Molly Hunt before adopting her family name, she moved to Nashville, got a manager, and a series of subsequent writing partnerships led to her signing her first publishing deal in 2009 at the age of 13. She released a handful of acoustic-minded pop ballads as Molly Hunt over the next few years before dropping the moniker in 2013. During that year, she released SVRCINA videos including a cover version of Imagine Dragons' "Bleeding Out" and her original Christmas song "The Difference." In 2014, she was featured on the Built by Titan dance track "The Darkness," and her debut EP Lover. Fighter. arrived in early 2016. An eponymous EP appeared in early 2018, followed a year later by the Hearing Colour EP. She also garnered attention behind the scenes, co-penning MOTi and Icona Pop's "Sink Deeper," and Sj and Joakim Molitor's "Live Without You," both in 2019. There were also collaborations with Robin Schultz, Lecrae, Hulvey, and Tommee Profit. In September 2020, SVRCINA released her debut full-length album, Elysian Fields, which featured production by Benjamin Backus, Aaron Chafin, Built by Titan, and others.
