Susan Wong

Born in Hong Kong on January 1, 1970, Susan Wong is a Hong Kong-based singer and pianist whose easy listening jazz performances and recordings have won a wide following in South East Asia and recognition in the United States and Europe. Born in Hong Kong, she grew up in Sydney, Australia, where, encouraged by musical parents, she learned to play the piano and violin at a young age. She performed in school productions, studied in London, and won a competition in Hong Kong when she was 16 but she did not pursue a career at the time. In 2002, she recorded an album of songs in English titled Close to You and it gained traction in Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. I Wish to Love followed in 2005 and Someone Like You, which she recorded in Nashville, came out in 2007. Two years later, she released 511. Her next album, Step into My Dreams, was released in 2010. In 2013, she went back to Nashville for My LIVE Stories, which included blues and bossa nova tracks. Her 2014 album, Woman in Love, which was recorded in various studios around the world, features songs made famous by other artists including the title song by Barbra Streisand plus Olivia Newton-John's “I Honestly Love You”, Rihanna's “Stay” and Adele's “Make You Feel My Love”. After a prolonged five year break, she issued the album Close to Me in 2019. At the end of 2020, Susan Wong released the holiday-themed Christmas Love to You EP.
