Skye Townsend

Skye Townsend is a Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and actress who first gained recognition during her teenage years through a series of creative YouTube videos featuring everything from new songs and music videos to humorous skits and impersonations. The daughter of comedian and director Robert Townsend, Skye released her debut EP, Vomit, in 2012 when she was 18 years old. On this sophisticated mix of R&B, pop, soul, Latin, and spoken word, she collaborated with a number of different producers and musicians, even working with her father, who directed two videos for the release. Around this time, she also landed a role acting in the BET network's 8 Days a Week web series and began filming her first movie. In addition to music and acting, Skye also began making appearances as a motivational speaker, educating young Black women about how to maintain self-esteem in society. Working with veteran producers Eric Hudson and Soundz, she delivered her second EP, Rocking Chairs, in early 2015.
