Shanti Celeste is affiliated with the Bristol, U.K.-based label and record shop Idle Hands, but idle is the least fitting word to describe her work ethic. As a producer, she crafts brisk, atmospheric, generally uplifting house tracks that sometimes feature her own airy vocals. As a DJ, her sets range from the sunny type of tracks she often produces to more intense, bass-heavy techno. In addition to all of this, she also promotes events and runs the Brstl and Peach Discs imprints. Celeste was born in Chile but began her music career in Bristol, and regularly began DJ'ing in 2011. Her debut single, "Need Your Lovin' (Baby)," was released in 2013, and was followed by the club hit "Days Like This" in 2014. The electro-tinged single "Universal Glow" followed on Julio Bashmore's Broadwalk Records that year, and subsequent releases appeared on Future Times, Apron Records, and Secretsundaze. Celeste became a highly in-demand DJ and toured throughout 2016, relocating to Berlin sometime during the year. In 2017, she debuted her Peach Discs label and released additional 12"s on Idle Hands and Dekmantel. ~ Paul Simpson
