Seb Wildblood

South London-Based DJ/producer Seb Wildblood makes dance music with downtempo sensibilities, crafting gentle melodies around rhythm-centric tracks. Being born in Stoke-on-Trent meant that there weren't many outlets through which to obtain or even experience dance music, and as such, he spent his early years on a musical diet of post-rock that included bands such as Explosions in the Sky and American Football. In his early twenties, Wildblood moved to London, settling down in the creative bubble of Peckham, South London. In the early 2010s, he met fellow producer/DJ Apes, and together they conceptualized the club night Church, named after St. Giles Church where they held their first few parties. After the church cottoned on to the true nature of the events they were forced to cancel, but Corsica Studios was looking for promoters to work on programming Thursday nights, so the brand relocated there. By 2012, Church had branched out to become a record label, their first release being Lorca's "Love Like This" 12". Wildblood began taking production more seriously in 2013, with two releases appearing, the digital-only Töreki EP for Madtech and 12" single "Feel" on Church. His first mini-album, Foreign Parts, surfaced in 2015; originally, the record was sent to a label to distribute, but for unknown reasons it didn't work out. Instead, he set up a separate catalog number, SW, so it could be released without delaying Church's schedule. However, he went on to release his second mini-album, U, on his own label in 2016. During the same year, he set up his first side label, Coastal Haze, to focus specifically on cassette releases, thus bypassing the long-winded production times associated with vinyl. 2017 turned into another busy year, with the release of another mini-album, :~^ (aka The One with the Emoticon), and the launch of another record label, All My Thoughts. Much of late 2017 and early 2018 was dedicated to DJ gigs, including tours around North America, Japan, and Australia. Wildblood returned in 2019 with new album Sketches of Transition. The album included vocal cameos by mauv and Buddy Love.
