Nad Sylvan
An American/Swedish singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and progressive rock artist, Nad Sylvan was born Hugh Erik Stewart in West Covina, California, but raised in Malmö, Sweden -- he adopted the Nad Sylvan moniker in 1997. He spent the 1970s and 1980s bubbling just beneath the mainstream in the band One by One. He issued his debut solo outing, The Home Recordings, under the name Chris Stewart in 1995, and in 1999 he released the concept album The Last Housewife, which along with a renamed version of his 1995 debut, now called Blue Waters, arrived via his newly adopted Nad Sylvan nom de plume. A third Sylvan outing, Sylvanite, followed in 2003. In 2008 he collaborated with with fellow Swede Bonamici (aka Christian Thordin) on a prog rock project called Unifaun. Shortly thereafter, he co-founded the Agents of Mercy with Flower Kings frontman Roine Stolt. Sylvan worked with Steve Hackett in 2012 on his Genesis Revisited projects, and in 2015 he released the narrative-driven Courting the Widow via Inside Out. The Bride Said No, his fifth studio long-player, arrived in 2017, again via Inside Out.
