Melody

Gabriela Abreu Severino, better known by her stage name Melody, is a Brazilian singer born on February 4, 2007, in São Paulo. She catapulted to fame in early 2015 when she posted a video of herself singing "Fale de Mim," a song penned by her father, Thiago Abreu (aka MC Belinho), a funk carioca singer. Another video of Melody attempting a falsetto in the style of Christina Aguilera went viral, earning her national notoriety. Coming from a musical family, Melody was deeply inspired by her father, and her sister, Bella Angel, who featured on her songs "Agora Chora" and "Só Curtição" from 2016. After announcing she would stop parodying other singers to focus on her own style, Melody rose to the forefront of the Brazilian pop music scene in 2018 with the single "Vai Rebola" whose video garnered over 21 million views on her streaming channel. That year, she also scored other hits such as "Tô Bem, Tô Zen," released through the KondZilla channel, and "Hoje Eu Tô um Nojo" featuring Carlos and Christian. In 2021, her song "Assalto Perigoso" peaked at Number 29 on the Brazilian charts, followed by a feature on Ana Castela's 2022 single "Pipoco," which turned Melody into the youngest artist in Latin America to make it to the global streaming Top 200. In 2023, "Love, Love," a collaborative effort with DJ and producer Matheus Alves, peaked at Number 46 on the Brazilian streaming charts.
