Keith Ailer
A native of Washington, DC, Keith Ailer is an expressive, accessible jazz vocalist/composer who sometimes detours into R&B. Ailer, whose mother Audrey J. Ailer was an English teacher for Washington's public schools, became interested in music at an early age but didn't decide to seriously pursue a career in music until he was in his early 20s. At the University of the District of Columbia, Ailer studied jazz under professor Calvin Jones, and he studied voice with Charlotte Holloman at Howard University's School of Music. In 1999, Ailer signed with Jazzateria and recorded the promising Spaces and Places.
