FOREVER ANTi PoP

Forever Anti Pop is the alias of Tony Macklin (Antionia Macklin, Jr.), a songwriter and producer who covers R&B and rap terrain, alternating between singing and rapping. Macklin was raised in Tallahassee, Florida, then Atlanta, Georgia, where, as a teenager, he wrote his first song, inspired by Kanye West and T-Pain. Signed to major label Interscope, Macklin released his debut, an EP titled Finessin the Rhythm, at the age of 21 in 2017. Macklin either wrote or co-wrote each one of its six songs, assisted by fellow newcomers David Miklatsky (aka David Sabastian) and Eugene Goring, as well as Dwight Watson, who had previously written for Timbaland, Plies, and Mindless Behavior. Despite Macklin's performing name, the material on Finessin the Rhythm was in step with the urban contemporary radio format.
