Emotional Oranges

The mysterious Los Angeles R&B duo Emotional Oranges make smooth R&B tracks that draw from both 1990s inspirations and more modernized sounds. Their pleasantly polished sound incorporates interplay between male and female vocalists over slick, radio-ready production. Initially emerging from unknown origins and going only as "A" and "V," the pair went from releasing singles to sharing full-length projects like 2022's The Juice, Vol. 3. They collaborated with Nigerian artist Nonso Amadi on the 2024 EP Blended. Emotional Oranges' debut song, "Motion," appeared in May 2018. The group made little known about themselves in the press, but let the music speak for itself. A few months later, the follow-up single "Personal" arrived. Both tracks were hugely successful, streaming over multiple online platforms millions of times. A third single, "Hold You Back," arrived in January 2019. Their debut LP, The Juice, Vol. 1, was released in June of that year, followed in November by The Juice, Vol. 2. A collaboration between Emotional Oranges and Channel Tres, "All That," marked their 2020 output. Their 2021 album The Juicebox included "All That," as well as collaborations with featured artists like Vince Staples, Becky G, Biig Piig, and others. In December 2022, Emotional Oranges continued The Juice series with the especially '90s-toned The Juice, Vol. 3. Still Emo, the duo's 2023 album, included guest appearances by Tkay Maidza, ZHU, and Nigerian singer/songwriter and producer Nonso Amadi. Blended, a four-song EP with Amadi, arrived in 2024, drawing from house and amapiano rhythms.
