Doss

Doss blends euphoric trance, uplifting house, and atmospheric drum'n'bass, producing daydream-worthy dance-pop tracks which approximate the sensation of flying. The enigmatic producer and vocalist released an acclaimed self-titled EP in 2014, collaborated with artists like SOPHIE and Ryan Hemsworth, and returned with 4 New Hit Songs in 2021. The New York-based artist first appeared with remixes of songs by How to Dress Well and Wildarms before Acéphale released her debut EP, Doss, in 2014. The release's airy yet ecstatic dance tracks and rave flyer graphics harkened back to the '90s while pointing to the future -- one of Recycle Culture's mixes of lead single "The Way I Feel" was titled "Hyperpop Remix," several years before the term hyperpop reached widespread usage. Doss was also featured on Ryan Hemsworth's single "Surrounded," from his EP Alone for the First Time. Doss toured with SOPHIE in 2018 and remixed her song "Whole New World." She also performed DJ sets at Porter Robinson's online festival Secret Sky and Lady Gaga's virtual album release party in 2020. Doss made her long-awaited return in 2021 with the LuckyMe-issued 4 New Hit Songs, which ranged from dream trance to shoegaze-tinged pop.
