Many teenagers dream about starting a career in sport or music. In 2019, the young French teenager Nordine Arabat (February 4, 2002) was able to take the first steps into becoming both, for at the age of 17 he simultaneously released his debut album and signed a deal with the prominent French football club FC Sochaux-Montbéliard. Arabat had been a midfielder with the AS Meudon youth team and for some time had been balancing the demands of being a footballer whilst perfecting his rap technique and publicising his material through social media. His freestyle raps had begun to build a following, and in 2019, Arabat decided to take the plunge and release his debut album titled Lunettes 2 Ski. The young rapper and footballer then announced he was quitting the music industry as he signed with Italy’s Sassuolo Calcio in 2020, only to surprise his fans a year later with the arrival of Ronaldinor, his second full-length. The album, which quickly surpassed its predecessor in terms of sales, featured guest spots by Tayc (“Trop parler”), Hatik (“Ma chérie”), and Jul (“Mexicaine”).
