BandGang Lonnie Bands

Detroit rapper BandGang Lonnie Bands commands his powerful storytelling lyrical style and unrelenting flows in a master class of street rap. He proved to be one of the brightest talents of the original six-man BandGang crew, rising to the national spotlight with solo releases such as the 2021 mixtape Hard 2 Kill and subsequent projects like 2023's Bam Bam. BandGang Lonnie Bands was just 13 when he began rapping as part of the BandGang collective. Throughout the 2010s, BandGang grew regionally, collaborating with larger artists like SOB X RBE and fellow Detroiter Tee Grizzely. Lonnie Bands' solo debut came with the 2016 EP Talk That Shit, and he quickly delivered new projects like 2017's Antisocial and went on to declare himself king of Detroit on his 2019 album KOD. After a series of personal tragedies that involved losing friends and family members, Lonnie Bands temporarily lost interest in making music, but he regained his fire on the 2021 mixtape Hard 2 Kill. He returned to a steady stream of solo music, collaborations, and guest spots on other artists' tracks, releasing a bolstered extended cut of Hard 2 Kill in 2022, and in 2023 he offered up the mixtape Bam Bam as well as We Brought Detroit to LA, a joint project with Cypress Moreno.
