ACRAZE

Best known for his globally successful remix of Cherish's R&B hit "Do It To It," Acraze is a house DJ from Staten Island, New York. Although his exact birth date is unknown, he was born as "Charlie Duncker" and began DJing warehouse parties and other local events during high school. Inspired by EDM artist 4B, he developed a unique style and began building a following via the internet, where singles like 2017's "Pull Up," 2019's "Bang Bang," and 2019's "Face Down" proved to be popular not only with American listeners, but also with international audiences. Hitting a prolific peak during the Covid-19 pandemic, he released the socially-conscious track "Black Lives Matter!" in 2020 and followed it with "Funky Town," a remix of Lipps Inc's chart-topping disco smash from 1980. Inspired to remix another previously-released hit, he returned in 2021 with "Do It To It." The song's original recording had been a Top 40 in eight countries more than a decade earlier, with Cherish's recording reaching Number 30 on the UK Singles chart and Number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. Acraze's version proved to be similarly popular, charting at Number 9 on the UK Singles chart, Number 1 on the UK Dance chart, Number 3 on the American Dance/Electronic Songs chart, and Number 1 in both the Netherlands and Hungary. Acraze's remix of "Do It To It" also helped spawn other remixes, most notably a mash-up with the Squid Game soundtrack that was orchestrated by fellow DJ Zedd.
