KingJet is the artistic nom-de-plume of Kendrick Nicholls, a multi-faceted artist based in Los Angeles, known for his unique blend of rap, indie rock, soul, and R&B. Originally from New York and raised in Nashville, KingJet has developed a reputation as a rapper, singer, and producer. Before embarking on his solo career, KingJet was known for his work in the production sphere, contributing to the success of other artists such as Mac Miller, Vic Mensa, and DUCKWRTH. His shift to solo work allowed him to put his voice at the forefront, a transition that, while initially challenging, ultimately proved successful. KingJet released various singles such as 2016's "Do It (Aye)" and 2018's "All Gone." But his breakthrough as a solo artist came with the release of his EP Travel in January 2019 under Independently Popular Records. The EP is a six-song journey through KingJet’s musical influences, including the standout track "Zone," which showcased his skill in creating synth-driven chill pop music. KingJet's music is characterized by its ethereal sounds matched with urban beats, its use of synths, and its lyrical focus on the highs and lows of life.
