Four years since the release of Skills in Pills, Lindemann are back with F&M. The many fans of Till Lindemann (Rammstein) and Peter Tagtgren (Pain) were eager for new music and they certainly got what they asked for! The album is divided into two main parts. The first part, comprising of five tracks, is a new take on the tale of Hansel & Gretel composed in close collaboration with the Thalia Theatre in Hamburg. The second part is made up of six other tracks that were especially written to complete the album. Once again produced by Peter Tagtgren, the whole ensemble is still very homogeneous despite the disparities between each track. The combo manages to alternate seamlessly between high-energy moments and darker, more malevolent moments, particularly as a result of Till Lindemann’s vocals which are as brilliant as ever. Having a wide range of musical influences can often lead to an erratic album, but this is not the case with F&M. The album alternates between moments of pop, rap and even folk music, but it all seems to make sense. It’s a real pleasure to hear these two artists venture into unexpected territory and do it so successfully. No doubt this album will leave its mark and be played on repeat. A real musical gem! © Maxime Archambaud/Qobuz

In your panoramas...
Tropicália: the Story of a Brazilian Revolution

In the late 1960s, a group of young Brazilian artists rose up against the ruling military junta by fusing local popular music, rock and avant-garde. Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, Os Mutantes and their friends invented tropicália, one of the most original musical adventures of the 20th century.

The Past, Present and Future of Black Country Artists

For decades, country music has been largely shut off to Black artists. There have been notable, even iconic, exceptions throughout history, of course. But there are too few of those, to the point that their success was often treated as novelty. There were also too many performers who should have made it big but were forced into stereotypes that didn't comfortably fit. Fortunately, there have been signs of hope in the past few years—hope that feels like a lot more than just good intentions and lip service. This tribute explores the history, and promising future, of Black artists in country music.

Neil Young in 10 Albums

It’s hard to shout “Rock’n’roll will never die!” without sounding like an idiot. But Neil Young can pull it off. Easily. For over half a century, the Canadian legend has proved himself to be one of the greatest songwriters of his generation, constantly renewing himself and taking rock’n’roll down both rustic and rougher paths. The proof lies in these ten albums.
