Militarie Gun

Los Angeles' Militarie Gun specialize in confessional melodic hardcore with restless noise-pop and punk flourishes. The group built up a buzz with a series of EPs before releasing their acclaimed debut album, Life Under the Gun, in 2023. Several guests appeared on the follow-up EP Life Under the Sun (2024). Founded by vocalist Ian Shelton after the dissolution of his previous outfit, Regional Justice Center, the band's debut EP, My Life Is Over, arrived in 2020. Morphing into a five-piece with the addition of guitarists Nick Cogan and William Acuña, drummer Vince Nguyen, and bassist Max Epstein, Militarie Gun released the two-part EP All Roads Lead to the Gun the following year. The band supported the releases with high-profile shows opening for Touché Amoré and Fiddlehead, which caught the attention of Loma Vista. The full-length All Roads Lead to the Gun, which combined both EPs and added four new songs (featuring guest spots from MSPAINT and Woolworm), appeared in 2022. Life Under the Gun, the group's debut album, arrived in 2023 and landed on many publications' year-end lists. Life Under the Sun, a 2024 EP, featured reworked versions of album tracks, with guests including Bully, Mannequin Pussy, and Manchester Orchestra.
