Just in time for Christmas, Beatles For Sale arrived in record stores on December 4, 1964, with the Fab Four already international icons. The pace imposed on them is also totally inhuman. Contractually obliged to record two albums a year, perform consecutive marathon tours and appear on TV shows, it's clear that Beatlemania is at its peak. The consequences of this madness sees the Beatles include six guest appearances for this fourth studio album (Carl Perkins, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Lieber & Stoller ...) and eight original songs. John, Paul, George and Ringo offer up rather gloomy faces on the album cover, and with titles as explicit that I'm A Loser, Baby's In Black, I Don’t Want To Spoil The Party or No Reply, they show (with grace) a darker, melancholic side than the public was perhaps accustomed to. The Beatles in 12 Albums

Barely seven years spent in the studio. An immeasurable heritage that still has a very strong influence today. The Beatles are a unique case in the history of popular music. The sixties music scene was an era of huge transition. With the Fab Four- helped by Bob Dylan on the other side of the Atlantic- rock music left its carefree adolescence and began adulthood. The four bubbly, naive boys from Liverpool would be transformed into independent artists, a life we follow through their discography.

Britpop in 10 Albums

“If punk was about getting rid of hippies, then I'm getting rid of grunge.” It was with this sentence from Damon Albarn in 1993 that England invaded the stage previously dominated by Nirvana and Seattle grunge. Britpop is deeply linked to politics and local identity and emerged just as Tony Blair and New Labour were entering the scene. English romanticism was once again becoming attractive compared to the American identity, which was considered too hollow in the UK. Make way for “Cool Britannia”.

Fleetwood Mac: The Blues Period

Fleetwood Mac led two consecutive lives: a blues-driven outfit from the 1960s led by Peter Green, one of the greatest guitarists of his generation, and another, a pop-rock band that became one of the most acclaimed groups of its era. Their 1977 album, “Rumours”, remains, forty years later, one of the best-selling records of all time and yet the band’s lesser-known early years are no less captivating.
