Luxurious Goldfrapp

Having first appeared back in September 2013, the album Tales of us is being rereleased in its Deluxe Edition format. This new version, in addition to the original album, includes the Live From Air Studios setlist, a concert recorded in the legendary Air Studios in London. Here Goldfrapp performs the classics Train, Utopia, Strict Machine and Clowns, together with stunning versions of Clay, Alvar and Thea, from Tales of Us (this performance was first performed during screenings of the film Tales of Us in cinemas worldwide)…

With Tales of Us Goldfrapp takes a long hard look in the mirror. After the 2012 release of Head First, the duo, made up of Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory, seem to recapture their first loves with a strong release. In keeping with their major work Felt Mountain, the duo string together cinematographic compositions, intimate atmospheres and references to film noir.

Entirely written and produced by the British two-piece, the album of 2013 was recorded in the group’s studio in Bristol. Introspective, poetic and made up of a series of stories using various fictional characters - whose names are the titles of the songs in the album - Tales of Us is a mixture of suspense, hallucinations and lynching stories.
