Thunder Jackson

The stage name of mercurial Oklahoma singer and songwriter Kyle Bradley, Thunder Jackson emerged in 2017 with a sound rooted in radio-ready widescreen rock and icy electro-pop. After issuing a series of stylish, buzzworthy singles, he released his eponymous full-length debut in 2020. Hailing from the small town of Piedmont, Bradley's formative years were flush with music, due in no small part to the fact that his father was a part-time Elvis impersonator. Drawn to the pageantry of the "King of Rock and Roll," as well as the dark pop stylings of artists like Jeff Buckley and Peter Gabriel, Bradley left home in his late teens to blaze his own musical path, eventually landing in Los Angeles, where he planned to busk his way into the biz. It was there, during a fortuitous shared cab ride, that he met Welsh producer and songwriter Pete Lawrie Winfield, who was also at a creative crossroads. After hearing Bradley sing, Winfield invited him to his basement studio, and before long, the pair had become both roommates and musical partners. Operating under the nom de plume Thunder Jackson, the project yielded its first single, "Guilty Party," in 2017. Showcasing Bradley's velvety falsetto and Winfield's pop acumen, four more singles followed in early 2020, all of which (along with "Guilty Party") appeared on Thunder Jackson's eponymous long-player later that year.
