R.W. Grace
Essentially the solo project of Australian singer/songwriter Grace Woodroofe, R.W. Grace makes atmospheric, minimalist folk and electronica. A native of Perth, Woodroofe first came to the public's attention in 2008 after several songs she entered into the Triple J radio competition Unearthed caught the ear of Los Angeles art collective the Masses, who brought her to California to develop her sound alongside such luminaries as American Music Club's Mark Eitzel, bassist/producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen, and others. Subsequently, in 2012, Woodroofe delivered her moody, blues and folk-infused debut album, Always Want, featuring production from guitarist Ben Harper. In 2014, Woodroofe returned under the name R.W. Grace with the single "Pluto." Featuring production via TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek, "Pluto" revealed a more arch, sophisticated sound and a heavy electronic pop direction.
