Ingested

Initially operating as Age of Suffering, Manchester, England's Ingested specialize in savage beatdowns and muscular riffs delivered with thrash-inspired speed. After releasing a demo and an EP as Age of Suffering, three of the members split off to form Ingested. Beginning with 2009's Surpassing the Boundaries of Human Suffering, the group blazed a trail of sonic fury, issuing acclaimed efforts like The Architect of Extinction (2015), Where Only Gods May Tread (2020), and The Tide of Death and Fractured Dreams (2024) that saw them become one of the United Kingdom's most lethal death metal machines. Founded in 2002, the Mancunian crew issued a demo (Human Food) and an EP (Holy Butchery) before inking a deal with Candlelight Records under the Ingested moniker -- after cycling through a series of lineups, the band eventually settled on vocalist Jason Evans, guitarists Sean Hynes and Sam Yates, bassist Brad Fuller, and drummer Lyn Jeffs. The band's debut long-player, Surpassing the Boundaries of Human Suffering arrived in 2009, and was followed by a European tour as part of the Bonecrusher Fest, which was headlined by the Black Dahlia Murder and supported by Carnifex, 3 Inches of Blood, and the Faceless. A sophomore effort, The Surreption, was issued in 2012, followed by a series of high-profile festival slots, and the release of the Revered by No One, Feared by All EP in 2014. The band moved to Century Media for the release of their third studio long-player, 2015's The Architect of Extinction, and in 2018 they unleashed The Level Above Human, this time on Los Osos, California-based death metal label Unique Leader. Two years later the band returned with their punishing fifth full-length effort, Where Only Gods May Tread. Two years later, the band returned with their punishing fifth full-length effort, Where Only Gods May Tread, with The Surreption II, a re-recorded version of their second album, appearing in 2021. The band inked a deal with Metal Blade before releasing 2022's Ashes Lie Still, a savage deathcore set rooted in themes of grief, loss, and isolation. The Tide of Death and Fractured Dreams, another uncompromising collection of relentless brutality, arrived in 2024.
