G.E.M.

Chinese singer Gloria Tang Zhi-Kei, who goes by her stage name G.E.M. (Get Everybody Moving), was born on August 16, 1991, in Shanghai, China. Raised in a family of musicians, her early exposure to music led to participation in singing competitions at a young age, winning Spice It Up in 2006 and catching the attention of Hummingbird Music, who offered her a recording contract. This marked the inception of her music career, culminating in her first mini-album, G.E.M., released in 2008, featuring songs in both Mandarin and Cantonese. In 2009, she recorded her debut studio album, 18… in Los Angeles. Following MySecret in 2010, G.E.M. achieved significant recognition with her 2012 release, Xposed, which included the chart-topping single "What Have U Done" on the Chinese pop charts. Her success continued with Heartbeat in 2015, earning her a position on Forbes magazine's list of influential figures under the age of 30. In addition to her music career, G.E.M. has continued to explore other creative avenues, lending her voice to the leading character in the 2016 animated film Charming and releasing her inaugural documentary, G-Force, the following year. In 2018, she unveiled a collection of EPs collectively titled the Fairytale Trilogy, comprising My Fairytale, Fearless, and Queen G. Recording her final album under the Hummingbird Music label, Happily Ever After in 2019, before signing with Sony Music, she released City Zoo, later in the year, and new singles "Parallel" (平行世界) and "Double You" (兩個你 / 兩個自己) in 2021. With seventh album Revelation hot on its heels (released in both Mandarin and Spanish), preceded by popular singles “Gloria” and “Wallfacer,” her career showed no signs of slowing down in 2023, with the singer releasing a string of singles including “Me & You” “Don’t Go” (李香蘭 )” and “11.”
