Feuerschwanz

Formed in 2004 by former Merlons member Peter Henrici and Fiddler's Green violinist Tobias Heindl, German parody group Feuerschwanz were first rounded out by members of Henrici's former group before becoming a full-fledged outfit. Giving the band a historical background dating from 1223, Henrici and company played alongside Fiddler's Green at various medieval shows and soon gained a following for their humorous take on medieval rock. Their first album, Prima Nocte, appeared in 2005 and was followed by sophomore release Met & Miezen in 2007. With their live show becoming quite a spectacle -- with the addition of more bandmembers and a group of dancers and entertainers known as the "chicks" gracing the stage -- Feuerschwanz went on to release their third album, 2009's Metvernichter. Continued touring and a successful show at the 2011 Wacken music festival saw their fan base grow even larger and their fourth album, 2011's Wunsch Ist Wunsch, finally saw the band enter the German album charts, albeit at number 95. In 2012 the group released their fifth album Walhalligalli, which entered the German album charts at number 37.
