Trinidad Cardona
Idioma disponível: inglêsBursting onto the scene in 2017 with his viral hit "Jennifer," Arizona-bred rapper/singer Trinidad Cardona had a whirlwind debut year that resulted in a contract with a major label and a pair of albums when he was barely a year out of high school. However, his luck quickly changed, parting with Island and maintaining a steady but quiet presence into the 2020s. Fate offered him a second shot when another early track, "Dinero," exploded on social media and more than tripled the success of "Jennifer." Charting across the world in 2021, "Dinero" helped Cardona secure another deal with Island. Later that year, he released his comeback effort, Por Favor. In early 2017, a teenaged Cardona scored his first hit almost overnight with his '90s R&B-inspired song "Jennifer." The Phoenix, Arizona singer uploaded a clip of himself singing during a class break and, when he woke up the next day, the video had over seven million views. While he had been making music for years (including a collaboration with Dorian Colter titled "Lights Out"), this sudden success expanded his audience, reaching fans around the world. He recorded a full version of "Jennifer" -- adding a few rapped verses and lyrics in Spanish -- and released it as an EP with other tracks "Ready" and "You Are Mine." Months after "Jennifer" took off, Cardona graduated high school and decided to pursue music full-time, signing with Island Records. He released the full-lengths Humble Beginnings and I Understand in 2018, but soon parted ways with the label. In the years that followed, he balanced various day jobs with a steady output of singles, like 2019's trap-kissed "Solo," and short EPs such as LOVE and Aventura. In 2020, he issued almost a dozen tracks, including collaborations with SypSki and Juiceboyz. Meanwhile, early Latin-inflected single "Dinero" bubbled up on social media, landing Cardona his second viral smash, which eclipsed "Jennifer" and resulted in another contract with Island. By 2021, "Dinero" had charted across Europe and North America. In December, Cardona issued the seven-track Por Favor.
