Algumas bandas promovem revoluções tão fortes na música mundial que seus nomes passam a ser sinônimo de um estilo próprio, e o Pink Floyd certamente faz parte deste seleto grupo. Com uma sonoridade que explorou territórios até então não descobertos, a banda, que surgiu em 1965, remete a um som elástico e ecoante, capaz de evocar sentimentos e provocar viagens dentro da própria mente, o que também é estimulado pelas letras e pela estética do grupo. Seus álbuns conceituais da década de 70 trazem temas complexos que ganham ainda mais força através da construção instrumental. Os mais importantes são The Dark Side of The Moon (1973) e The Wall (1979), que até hoje inspiram todas as gerações musicais.
