Nick Howard
Idioma disponível: inglêsAlthough he's from England and based in the United States, guitar pop singer/songwriter Nick Howard made his breakthrough as the winner of the 2012 season of the reality singing competition The Voice of Germany. By that point, he had already issued a pair of albums, including his first full-length, 2008's Something to Talk About. After his Voice win, his sound developed radio-ready polish, especially on 2016's hook-heavy All or Nothing. In addition, his songs have soundtracked numerous television shows, including The Hills, 90210, and Jersey Shore. Born and raised in Brighton, England, Howard moved to New York in the early aughts to pursue his dream of music, with major inspirations including the Beatles, John Mayer, the Script, Oasis, and Coldplay. He released his debut studio album, Something to Talk About, in 2008, promoting the effort with frequent touring. His sophomore follow-up, When the Lights Go Out, arrived in 2011. Produced by Marshall Altman (Natasha Bedingfield, Matt Nathanson), the set helped Howard secure opening slots on treks with Lifehouse and Boyce Avenue. The following year, he auditioned for The Voice of Germany. Joining Rea Garvey's team, Howard performed cover versions of songs by Jason Mraz, Michael Kiwanuka, and Elbow. To commemorate his victory, he released the 2012 compilation My Voice Story, which featured all of the songs he performed on the show, including "Read All About It, Pt. 3" with Emeli Sandé. In 2013, Howard relocated to Los Angeles to record his fourth effort, Stay Who You Are, which arrived later that year. The album featured the tracks "Put It Back Together" with Isabell Schmidt and "You Are Love" with Boyce Avenue. He joined an international tour with the latter group and spent the next couple years on the road. In 2016, his fifth LP, the pop-leaning All or Nothing, was released. The album single "Fight" was later chosen as the theme for the 2017 Tour de France. In 2017, Howard kicked off a "Song of the Month" series, which started with November's "Hurricane." He continued into 2018 with February's "Frantic" and March's stadium-sized anthem "Our Time."
