Lujipeka

Lujipeka is the stage name of French rapper Lucas Taupin, born on September 9th, 1995 in Rennes. Some of his earliest musical heroes include the singer Renaud and rapper Booba, whose album Ouest Side would greatly influence his future output. At the age of 14, Lujipeka took to music production, first crafting electronic music tracks and then hip-hop instrumentals. In 2014, he joined the rap collective Columbine, with whom he released three critically acclaimed albums: Clubbing for Columbine (2016), Enfants Terribles (2017), and Adieu Bientôt (2018). His stint in the group helped Lujipeka find his voice as a rapper, as he ditched the somber undertones of his earlier texts in favor of a more honest, heartfelt approach. His solo debut, the EP P.E.K.A. saw the light in 2020 and was followed by his first full-length album L.U.J.I. later that year. An EP titled Bordel was also supposed to arrive during 2020, but Lujipeka decided to postpone it due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2021, he finally returned with his sophomore effort Montagnes Russes, which cracked the Top 5 on the French Albums Chart.
