The vocalist made her recorded debut with "Run Dat Back," a track included on Now That's What I Call Music! 42 (2012) and also released as an independent single. After another independent release, "Boom Boom Boom," she recorded "VIBE" (2016) for Motown, then moved to Capitol, where she released My Rules (2017), a four-track EP in the stylistic realm of Meghan Trainor and Alessia Cara.
