Founded in 2013 in Brisbane with mutual friends Henderson and Carins' shared love of travel and acoustic music, the project came to fruition in 2017 with the release of the single "The Woods." Later that year Hollow Coves inked a deal with Nettwerk and issued their debut EP, Wanderlust, which earned comparisons to contemporaries like Angus & Julia Stone, Ben Howard, and Paper Kites. Two years later the group returned with their nostalgia-laden first full-length effort Moments, which was produced by Chris Bond (Ben Howard, Justin Nozuka, Xavier Rudd).
