Ella Vos
Idioma disponível: inglêsA Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter and visual artist who specializes in thoughtful synth-driven indie pop, Ella Vos experienced a rush of viral success for her 2016 single "White Noise." Her 2017 debut album, Words I Never Said, further elevated her profile as did her winsome 2019 follow-up EP, Watch & Wait. Following her introspective second LP, Turbulence (2020), Vos collaborated with electronic producer Kaskade and released a handful of solo singles including 2022's "Glitter and Tears" and 2023's "Mindreader." Vos was trained as a classical pianist and initially made her way into the pop world as a keyboardist for BØRNS. The subsequent birth of her son in 2015 helped inspire her to strike out on her own. After gaining some notice as the singer of Just a Gent's 2016 track "Rolling Dice," she issued her first solo single, "White Noise," a hypnotic downtempo pop cut about her experience of new motherhood. The song became a viral hit, notching millions of streams and earning critical praise. Her 2017 follow-up single, the sociopolitical anthem "You Don't Know About Me," also gained attention, and both songs soon appeared on Vos' debut album, Words I Never Said. National tours and an appearance at Bonnaroo followed. In 2018 she was diagnosed with lymphoma, and her battle with cancer inspired some of the material on her second outing, the 2019 EP Watch & Wait. The songs were later reworked into a remixed version as Vos continued to keep one foot in the electronic world while writing more organic pop. The surprisingly upbeat songs on her second album, 2020's aptly titled Turbulence, were forged from the tumult of depression and divorce. She sang on a pair of collaborations with producer Kaskade before returning to solo music with 2022's "Glitter and Tears" and "Mountain." Vos headed into 2023 with the pulsing "Mindreader" as well as the defiant "Salty," a collaboration with Tei Shi.
