All Get Out

With roots in the American South, All Get Out occupy the space between indie rock and emo punk, blending the harmony and passion of groups like Band of Horses and My Morning Jacket with the urgent vocal delivery of acts such as Modest Mouse and Manchester Orchestra. Debuting in the late 2000s, they issued underground favorite The Season in 2011 before a quiet period of exploration ended in the late 2010s with Nobody Likes a Quitter and No Bouquet. In the early 2020s, the band pivoted their sound on 2022's Kodak, streamlining that shift on their self-titled rebirth, 2023's All Get Out. Based in South Carolina, the group was formed by vocalist Nathan Hussey and guitarist Kyle Samuel, later rounded out by drummer Dominic Nastasi and bassist James Gibson. They balanced melodic guitar with driving energy, all of which soundtracked their often confessional and unflinching lyrics. After their first self-titled debut landed in 2008, they followed with 2011's The Season, which became a cult favorite in the indie/emo sphere. Despite the breakthrough, the band remained quiet over the ensuing years as they figured out the future of the project. All Get Out wouldn't return until 2015 with the Movement EP. They quickly followed with Nobody Likes a Quitter (Favorite Gentlemen/Bad Timing Records), issued in 2016 and produced/co-written with Manchester Orchestra's Andy Hull and Robert McDowell. Seizing a burst of creative energy, they started writing a follow-up while Nobody was still being mixed. That fourth set, No Bouquet (Equal Vision) arrived in 2018 and was produced by Mike Watts (Glassjaw, the Dear Hunter). At the turn of the decade, the duo issued a series of supplementary releases, including 2019's Northport Sessions EP, an Audiotree Live EP, and 2021's tenth anniversary acoustic reworking of The Season. With eyes set on a new era, All Get Out returned in 2022 with their fifth album, Kodak, a self-professed change in direction for the group. They continued in a similar vein on the quick follow-up, their second eponymous LP, 2023's All Get Out, which incorporated folk, emo, and Americana into an evolved sound that stretched their songwriting scope.
