47ter

Pierre Paul, Miguel and Blaise grew up in Bailly, a small town in Yvelines, Ile-de-France. The trio met during college and began making music together. They experimented with different genres, trying their hand at rock, metal and pop with a fourth friend performing vocals. It was when he left that the group's identity began to cohere around their laid-back hip-hop sound.

Pierre Paul took up lead vocals, switching from English to French, and they wrote the song that went on to become their first single, 'Sans Talent'. They settled into a chilled-out style that eschewed gangster mimicry in favour of self-deprecating humour, pre-empting any potential jokes about their unconventional image. The final piece of the puzzle was their name, 47ter, which in the end they took from the address of their local village hall, a move that they felt was symbolic of their self-mocking style.

With 'Sans Talent', 47ter soon began racking up numbers on streaming platforms, then followed up with 'Petit Prince' and began taking trips to Paris to meet with labels. They settled with Auguri Productions and recorded their seven-track debut EP, 'Petit Princes'.

A collection of freestyles, 'On vient gâcher tes classiques' followed in 2019, as well as the single 'Cote Ouest'.
